funeral-flowers

It is a very sad, yet strange day.  I did not know Farrah Fawcett or Michael Jackson personally, but I grew up with both of them and felt as if I did.  I was a fan of Charlie’s Angels and was amazed at Farrah’s acting in “Burning Bed.”  Like everyone else, Michael had me dancing and signing non-stop.  I can still recite all the words to every song on the “Thriller” album and recall listening to it over and over and over again.

Farrah earned my respect when I watched her documentary about her battle with cancer.  She was real and honest about facing the fear of the unknown- death, that many of us do not face.  You could see it in her eyes that she was staring at death, but not wavering as it loomed.  If you did not see the documentary, I highly suggest you watch it.  I cried like I knew her, as she brought forth the fear of leaving this world and the reminder that none of us are promised another day or moment.  She had a special beauty about her and I think most of that came from within, as you listen to her loved ones describe her.

Michael was the complete opposite.  He was about to begin a journey to help rebuild his career.  He wanted to show his kids what made him an icon and reconnect with the fans that gave him life when he was on-stage.  A boy that was lost in a man’s body, for he never had a chance to be a child, as the lyrics to his song “Childhood” so hauntingly explain.   We await the news of what caused the cardiac arrest, and hope it was not a cocktail of prescription drugs that took him from his family.  Michael opened the way for a new style of music and dance, one that you see glimpses in many of the artists of today.

The reality of life was put before us during yesterday’s events and hopefully, like so many others that have passed before us, it should remind us to live in the present.   Take care of yourself and if you see someone in need, reach out and help them.  Do not wait, because as for both of the stars we lost yesterday, the time came quickly.  We are only given one life here on earth and there is no time-stamp on us guaranteeing we will live to be 100 or more years of age.  Both of them woke-up on Thursday unaware it was the last time they would do so.  You have this moment only, and no promise of the next.  Deal with your issues, let go of the past hurts, and learn to reach towards the future while living in the present moment.  Take care of the only body you have, but more importantly, help those around you more than you help yourself.

spagiricAs I mentioned in my last blog, I am bringing in a new supplement line into my office.  I started using the products because I think as a practitioner, I need to try it before I give it to my client.  Aside from using the Liquid Vitamin D3, I am also using the Spagyric Greens.  This is a concentrated greens formula that is great on supporting the nervous system, immune system, and endocrine.  It is great for people with lots of stress or anxiety.  I have been taking the product for over 2 weeks and I have to say my energy level is really good.

So what is Spagyric Greens?

First, here is an explanation of the Spagyric process: According to the Spagyric process, a plant is separated into its three fundamental aspects, including (in an abbreviated summary) its essential oils, its alcohol essence and its mineral or micronutrient residues.  The three main components then go through a process of low-heat distillation and/or natural fermentation to release the healing properties of the plant. Finally, all components are reunited to create the remedy.  This process is specially designed to preserve all the medicinal essences of the whole plant, while allowing for maximum extraction of the raw material. The end result is a highly concentrated and bioavailable product.  All of these processes’ techniques are extremely specific, and many of them require long periods of time, some up to forty days, if they are to be done correctly. Many raw materials require different processing times and may require additional steps. Due to the concentrating nature of this form of processing, selecting only the purest and cleanest organic and/or wildcrafted raw materials is of utmost importance. Spagyric processing is a chemical-free process.

With an understanding of spagyric, Spagyric Greens is a power-packed formula of nutrient rich living foods and herbal components.  Together, they help support balanced energy, healthy immune systems and maintain a youthful vitality.  I hope you can see why I am excited to offer these products to my clients.

vitamin-d-source

As I mentioned in my last blog, I am really, really excited about the new line of supplements that I will be carrying in the office.  Since  my last post, I am trying to fit in training on all their products between clients.  This is not going as I planned, and I am rethinking my plan.

I had a short training today on the few items I currently offer in the office.  Can I get across how excited I am about what these can do for my clients?  I will start with the latest in their line, Liquid Vitamin D3.  Now, if you are reading the news, there are numerous studies being released on the benefits of Vitamin D.  Did you know when you wear sunblock it also blocks out Vitamin D?  Most people have some sort of Vitamin D deficiency and when you look at all the things Vitamin D does for the body, you will be like me and be thrilled to have something you can take daily to help you meet your daily dose.  One dropper full is 2000 IU of Vitamin D.

You might be asking what Vitamin D does for the body.  Aside from needing Vitamin D to help you absorb calcium, which contributes to strong bones, it also helps the immune system, wound healing, nervous system, insulin secretion, and regulate blood pressure.  Research is promising that Vitamin D deficiency may also play a factor in some cancers, Alzheimer’s disease,  Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, Rhematoid arthritis and autoimmune diseases.  More research is needed, but so far, things are looking promising.

Note:  In the picture, it mentions Vitamin D is made via sunlight.  Yes, sunscreen filters out some of the Vitamin D, but do not skip using sunscreen to get Vitamin D.

Vitamin D Interactions:

The following medications increase the metabolism of Vitamin D and may decrease serum D levels:  Phenytoin (Dilantin), fosphenytoin (Cerebyx), phenobarbital (Luminal), carbamazepine (Tegretol), and rifampin (Rimactane).

The following medications should not be taken at the same time as vitamin D because they can decrease the intestinal absorption of vitamin D:  Cholestyramine (Questran), colestipol (Colestid), orlistat (Xenical), mineral oil, and the fat substitute Olestra.

core_nutritionals

I am excited to announce new products that I will be carrying in the office by Energetix.  They are various remedies that include homeopathic, Spagyric Botanicals, Nutritionals and Spagyric Chinese Botanicals.   Spagyric processing emphasizes use of the whole plant, ensures maximum extraction of the raw material and creates a product that is more concentrated and bioavailable than the original substance; while leaving all the original trace minerals and elements intact.  This ancient form of processing involves separation of the raw ingredient into its active components, purification of the constituents through natural solutions and rhythmic extractions, and lastly, reunification of the concentrated elements to create the final remedy. Each of these remedies are in liquid form and require a dropper full two to three times a day, or in tablets.

I am starting with a few nutritionals: Liquid Vitamin D3, Spagyric Greens, AminoGest, and Flora Synergy.  I will slowly be growing the various products as I need to undergo more training to properly dispense the new products.  I am excited about being able to offer these products to my clients.  I will offer more information on each of the products in future blogs, so check back.  Now, off to more training!

neuropathyHappy Friday, everyone!  It has been a crazy week and luckily it smoothed itself out.  I did notice Sunday is a full moon, so that explains alot of the crazy energy that is going around.  I had a patient that just left the office that is coming in for neuropathy.  She has constant pain on the inner and top of both feet.  The pain gets worse at night, causing her to lose alot of sleep, unless she takes a sleeping pill.

After her first treatment, she had 4 hours of pain relief.  I know that does not seem very long, but considering she has not had any pain relief, alittle bit of pain relief is better than continuous pain.  This week, as soon as the needles were inserted, she could feel her feet “waking up.”  She was able to walk out of my office without any pain.  I am excited to hear at her next treatment how long the pain-relief lasted this time. Acupuncture can help neuropathy due to helping promote the circulation in an area that has poor circulation.  If you know anyone suffering from neuropathy,  suggest acupuncture to them.  It will take multiple treatments but it is well worth it in the end.

Hello, everyone!  I do not know about you, but so far June has not been very nice to me and I am only 2 days in.  I am alittle scared what the rest of the month brings, as it seems I am technically challenged in June.   I just bought a new cd player yesterday to replace the one that was destroyed by the water fountain.  (I am still trying to figure out how this happened but the water fountain dumped all of it’s water onto the cd player below, causing death to the cd player.)  The new cd player worked wonderful yesterday but today, not so much.  This morning I was trying to figure out why my handheld calendar would not sync to my laptop and allow for a back-up of my calendar.  As I was downloading a patch to fix it, they do not state this replaces the current operating system, so all my appointments are in never-neverland.  I am playing a guessing game on who has appointments today and at what time.

As if that was not enough, I am having a really bad craving for Starbucks coffee.  Normally, I would run to Starbucks between appointments, but since I do not know my appointments today, you see the issue.  I find it funny how normally I could do without Starbucks but today that is not going to happen.  If only Starbucks would deliver….

A friend of mine follows astrology so I am very aware that Mercury was in retrograde up until May 31st.  I guess I am the lucky sun sign to have the after-effects of it, as mercury in retrograde messes with anything electronic.  I might have to contact her to get a reading to see what is going on in the stars today, besides messing with me.

Other than that, it has been a good day in the office, treatment wise today.  Lots of understanding clients helping me recreate my calendar and offering if I find out I am double-booked, they will gladly change the appointment.  I have to give a huge “Thank you” to all my clients that have been so kind and helpful during the calendar reconstruction.  The next thank you will go to an old friend that is coming to fix the sync/back-up option to my calendar so this does not happen again.  Even though something happened this morning to cause me to scream language my mother would be shocked to hear from my mouth, it showed me that I have some of the best clients a practitioner could ever ask for.   A big “Thank You” to all my clients who make my day a complete joy when I come to work, even if I am being technically challenged.
